So, recently my good friend and evil twin Spooky came up to me and said “Hey, since you’re going to let me live above your place I am going to need to go look for a skybox”. I agreed and also thought now was the time for me to get out there and get a new one too since I was tired of having my little box in the sky (I change houses regularly). So off we went. First we hit the usual suspects. Browsed SLX and Onrez looked up creator’s names and then searched out their wares in world. We spent…four days doing that. And found in the end nothing we liked. Which got me to thinking; what the hell is up with the prefab skyboxes in SL? It seemed most people were content to slap together a box (with or without rounded edges) put some windows on it and go “Here is my skybox!!! You will now pay me 1000L$ for it!” So finally we sat down in the Fry St. Social Club and began to discuss our options. We could do any of the following:


a)Buy a regular house and slap it up in the sky (Which is what I did last time)

b)Go back to the whole box in sky method

c)Build our own and maybe offer them as alternatives to the same old stuff other skybox consumers are being forced to deal with.



We have chosen C and are much happier for it. I can’t exactly show you pictures yet as we are not done. But in the future, look forward to a line of skyboxes coming out from Libertine Studios. Also, we are working on several lines of furniture after our search for furniture also ended with a bad taste in our mouths. Pictures of that will be coming soon as well.

A note to skybox creators out there; take a cue from 5th Dimension and some of the other creators out there. Modular is the way to go. It allows the consumer to also use their imagination and gives us kids who loved Legos and other construction toys a chance to go nuts.
