Wide Cross Section In A Day

I am now sitting in New York City after a long day of travelling. The only thing missing is my bag and its contents. United Air Lines is still not quite sure where it is. I will probably have dreams about its travels this evening.

The day started in a lonely corn field on the northern border. The small building opened one hour before the plane was scheduled to leave, and the one person at the counter for the airline was outnumbered by the Transportation Security Administration Proctology...

Using jQuery to Call a Simple Web Service

Over the past few months, I have become a huge fan of jQuery. It has completely transformed my development work. I thought I would share a simple example of how to call a very basic web service that spits back two JSON (Javascript Object Notation) encoded strings and displays them.

I am primarily an ASP.NET developer, but you can use any back end server technology. You just need to output the results as JSON.

My simple web service takes an ID number on the querystring...
