On the brink

So I didn't get a weekend and won't get one next weekend either... I am off on my work travels again, this time to Qatar.
And my hotel has no alcohol. I have, of course, Googled to see which hotels DO because a glass of wine after long days there is, y'know, important.
So get to the point, woman. Big changes happened in my SL and more ahead.
Yes, I still enjoy it. Yes, I have great friends and love building.
But I'm also sick of many things, and particularly of the cliques, the brown-nosing necessary to be in with the cool kids in your chosen area.
When I get back (and have grabbed a glass of wine and cuddled the cats) I am going to make the changes I need to so that I can ENJOY SL again.
Cryptic? Nope, not really.
If - in the HIGHLY unlikely event you want anything at Vent du Sud -, wait. Once I get back it will be yours for the taking, for a token 1L probably, or, as friends keep telling me, something like 50L for the bigger builds such as lighthouses or the tree house or beach cabin.
Nuts? Maybe. But I need to do this. Or I will leave. And I don't want to leave but I am pretty sick of what I see happening in the world of decor. Sad.
And no, I do not make crappy newbie lazy junk. Or I like to think so.

I feel for you. I hope you will be able to enjoy SL again, and if I can do anything to help you achieve that just let me know. (Can't really think of anything, but at least you can tell me I make crappy newbie lazy junk if you feel that is a prudent classification for what I do) Gotto be worth something :-)

I've enjoyed talking to you in-world and hope to see you again. From what I can tell, you seem to enjoy building and being part of your sim but the politics of the building end seems to get to you (?) Yes, I am going to step away from the 'selling' part but carry on building and stay put.
The economics of it all could be challenging but as long as I am hauling my ass onto planes or trains this often, should be doable for a while at least.
