Apple brownies...who has a good recipe?

I like apples. I like brownies. Time for me to combine them.

I found this recipe and it looks like a good, simple one to follow, but before I go shopping and pick up some supplies, anyone have their own suggestion?

Not a recipe, just a shot in the dark. Make separately brownies and apple crisp batter. In a pan, put dowwn a half layer of brownie batter as a base, and then scoop in handfuls of brownie and apple crisp batter on top. You'll want more brownie than apple crisp batter so everything holds together. I used to do this at a local buffet: heaven! Top with ice cream and a pledge to exercise "tomorrow".

I can't eat apple crisp. I probably should have mentioned that the texture of fruit - especially apples - in baked goods makes me gag. Even with the recipe I linked above, I'd have to nix the dicing and pulp the apples down to an almost sauce-like consistency before I'd add them.

These look good and are made with apple sauce so no texture issues... and there's cream cheese frosting! Although I suppose, you don't really need to add frosting. I think they're dark in the picture because these ones are made with homemade cinnamon applesauce and there's also pumpkin pie spice added - yes, I said PUMPKIN SPICE - but you can just use regular apple sauce.

In other words: Oh, you wanted apple brownies? Here's something completely different...

Maybe just make regular brownie batter, but add applesauce to it. It's nothing I've ever tried before, so I don't know how much to add, but experimentation has often yielded some good recipes. Some sites I've seen suggest replacing the oil in the brownie recipe with applesauce. You'll have to check on them during the baking to make sure they don't dry out though.

Instead of replacing all the oil, some hash oil could be used.
