That looks like it would be great. I'm not a big fan of turkey since I think it's usually pretty bland but that looks like it would be a whole lot more flavorful.

I wonder if you could slip the bacon under the turkey skin. I've done that with herbs and spices when I bake a turkey, and it doesn't take much to get between the meat and the skin. That would get the bacon flavor into the meat better.

The best thing to do is wait until right after Thanksgiving, when turkeys go on deep discount and pick up a couple delicious experiments on the cheap.

Picture doesn't look as good as it sounds. Burnt bacon is really salty.

when they make Peking Duck.. they loosen the connective muscles around the ducks anus and then stick a thing up there and blow air between the body and the skin..

Ummm...nope, but I think I'll get my mother's cornbread stuffing recipe and add a bit of bacon to that and a tiny bit of chopped Granny Smith apple. I make the dressing in the turkey, so it would add some smokey bacon flavor but it would be mild. hmmmm...*goes to call Mom*

Frozen turkeys no longer need anuses, I guess.

You can work your fingers between the skin and the meat pretty easily. I've seen people work herbed butter under there and it's delicious that way. I don't see a problem getting bacon under there as well, but it would be tough to get it fully covered. You might be better off chopping the bacon up and working it under the skin in smaller bits.
