Radegast

Radegast, version 2.8 has been released. It implements latest SL protocol changes, such as server side baking, large groups, adjusts to the way server processes interest list, etc.

See release notes for details and download instructions.

Smile Radegast 2.10

Radegast 2.10 has been released. This release bring important performance and reliability improvements. All users of previous versions are strongly encourage to upgrade. Server Side Appearance support is improved with more robust maintenance of inventory links in the current outfit folder. A simple helper for LSL automation is added, as well as the support for #RLV shared folder which is improved so that it is possible to change outfits using a scripted RLV object (tested with Open Collar).

You can download this release from our downloads page.

Full list of changes can be seen in the release notes.

Hi lightsrage,

The creator of Radegast viewer (as well as this thread), Latif Khalifa, has passed away. Their site will no longer be updated.

Radegast viewer has been continued by others and the latest version can be found here:

Thank you for letting me know. I had no idea. I couldn't tell via the net. This is sad news indeed but I will grab this version and get started and see how things go.

I have a map I got off a friends fb page for virtual ability and I cant get it to load in radegast it wants the second life viewer which as a blind person I cannot use. not to mention I got my avatar lost and don't know where I am and the my position gives me any text information I cant figure out how to get back to virtual ability island and its very complicated to navigate it seems and where you can search for online friends that list is now auto populated with people I never typed in or talked too. I don't know what to do the go home button takes me to random places.

If you don't mind sending me a PM or an IM, I am Brenda Archer in Second Life and I have made a landmark for about a yard away from the Virtual Ability landing point. I could send that to you. Do they have a group? I am going to try downloading Radegast and see how it goes. I am desperate to save data and I hope it works.

Radegast new install is working for me and my old petite avie looks correct to my alt viewing it in Singularity. This is great news because I use data over a phone and do not need pictures just to check my IMs.

I figured out navigation and groups amazingly enough but the file menu and the rest cannot be accessed from the keyboard with alt f any more this is bad because we cannot set client prefs and such apparently there is a tts portion that auto reads things coming in that would help me greatly but I cant figure out how to get that working. and setting afk status would be nice.

alt f did make the file menu come up, but I don't know if that means it would be reading it aloud.

I went hunting for the information about making it read aloud, but did not find it. I may not know what to look for. I did find a help file at Accessibility Guide - Radegast which you're probably familiar with.

when I did my install I did approve voice, but I'm not familiar with the service that reads it aloud. I'm hard of hearing so I text.

Hi lightsrage, I'm still getting a handle on what Radegast does, but by all means, anything you know of that needs fixed or improved, please submit a bug report here: https://bitbucket.org/cinderblocks/radegast/issues/new and I would be happy to look at it. My main interest in continuing Radegast development is improving accessibility because it's the only option for many.

I am so glad Radegast is being worked on again! I am Celene Highwater. I helped write the Accessibility guide for Radegast and I have been training people to use the client for a really long time. We had been looking for someone to take over coding of it because Latif passed away.

I would love to help in any way I can. I am interested in posting a copy of the Radegast user guide on your site since the Radegast.org site will no longer be active.

What I should have said is that the Radegast site will no longer be updated with new software releases. The site is still online and will continue to exist as far as I know.
