see-oh-neh
| So, what's going down in Phoenix town? Abuse flinging, blog comment wars, Phoenix vs Firestorm, special meetings. "Firestorm sucks", "add multiple layers to Phoenix or I'm going elsewhere". "Jessica your attitude sucks", "You are meant to be the developers for the people". Blah blah blah. Can't say I didn't see it coming. It's no secret what my opinion and predictions on the whole Phoenix with mesh/Firestorm thing is, I am one of the most vocal people on the subject around here. But even still, this is ridiculous. It's one thing to have an opinion, but a lot of what is going on is more than opinions it's straight up abuse. If you are involving yourself in it, please, for the love of god, give it a rest. The Phoenix team do not have an unlimited pool of developers to call on to please everyone, leave the abuse out of it. If things don't work out how you wanted them to and it severely disrupts your SL and mental state. Please try to just quietly just switch viewers to another one without the drama storm. The more time spent dealing with the crap that is going on, the less time spent on actually making viewers. If you didn't know, there is a meeting going on today at 1pm SLT to address this craziness. Whatever happens, please just respect their decisions, it's their unpaid and freely provided project and this shit needs to stop before the users themselves destroy it. |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 04/06/2008 Client: Singularity 1.7.2, Firestorm Blog Entries: 1 | Let me be blunt; at this point in time most of the phoenix fanboys are whiny brats that the firestorm project would do well to cut loose. The only good done by pandering to them is that by keeping them on phoenix, Henri isn't stuck dealing with them.

Business: Darkly Cute Client: NOT the same one I used yesterday... (<.<) | Y'know... Henri wrote his own client. It has mesh. =^-^= For a long time Catznip has been great. Still us. (^_^) And, given recent experience, I'll continue to laud Niran's. (^_^) What does it ~HAVE~ to be Emerald/Phoenix/Firestorm? (=_=)

cout<<"monies";
| The viewer needs a rewrite, its bloated and lag heavy. The developers just rehashed emerald when it went to nix. And 90% of the code and features from emerald were taken from Day Oh and his griffer viewer. I do know the LGG was in charge of implementing the radar key system though.

My Mood: Client: Flavor of the week | Phoenix users are... strange. Not that I have anything against Phoenix. It was a good viewer in its time. I used it, I'm using Firestorm a lot now. Can't decide what I prefer of it and Dolphin 3. But the problems some have with trying to use another viewer is puzzling to me. A half old mum like me, who knows next to nothing about computers switch viewers easily. Makes me wonder.... ![]() It's not so hard, is it?

My Mood: | I think the silent majority is in effect here. Myself, my partner and many of our friends use Phoenix and Firestorm and with the exception of one friend who is in in their beta test group, I doubt any of us have made our way to their forums. But the bigger the user-base is... the larger the crazy, self-entitled fringe group is going to be... |

My Mood: | So many people go completely mental as soon as they hit that Logon button on the viewer startup screen. That button does multiple duty of logging you in as well as halving your mental age, and amping up to infinite degrees your hidden/suppressed histrionic dramamongering. How do they function in everyday real life? "OMG I BOUGHT A NEW CAR AND WHEAR TEH HELL IZ TEH WINDSHIELD WIPER CONTOLS?????!!??? WTF!??! U SUXXX?!?!??" |

| Back when I used to use Snowglobe viewers for anything but testing, I always found Phoenix ran considerably slower than Singularity or Cool VL, and that it was considerably more likely to crash than was Cool VL, which in my experience is very stable indeed (not that I suffered a notable number of crashes on any of them). |
