My Mood: SL Join Date: 6th Jan. 2007 Client: Nirans Viewer 2.x Blog Entries: 12 | Nirans Viewer Ladies n Gentlemen! If you are interessted in a totally different experience in SL this Viewer is for you , it changes a lot of Defaults , revamps a lot of UI aspects and generally does a lot of stuff you were used to for too long completly differently! this Viewer is also designed for Very High End PC´s , Machinima and Photography and makes a lot of hidden Debugs easily accessable and switchable via Preferences it also takes a lot of ideas of modern games especially in Preferences in which you will find a completly new Graphics Panel

My Mood: | Hi Niran! I just found out about this viewer and I am really impressed with the jump in FPS I get. I had tried Kirsten's but not worked with it much, so I am not familiar with things that will no doubt seem obvious to others. Is there a "Dummies"-type guide to this viewer anywhere? Something that explains all the things people who've been using it or Kirsten's already know? Anyway, the thing I'd like to know first is why the menus and buttons all disappear if I go fullscreen, and is it possible to get them back in full screen mode, and if so, how. For me, chat toggles the way it's supposed to. My problem is the whole UI, except for the bottom bar itself, disappears; the UI toggle only flips that on and off. The rest of the UI, including the buttons on the bottom and the top and sidebar are simply not there for me. I have experimented with resizing the window and these things seem to disappear gradually as the window gets bigger, and reappear gradually as it gets smaller. My Mood: SL Join Date: 6th Jan. 2007 Client: Nirans Viewer 2.x Blog Entries: 12 | yea im sorry for that this bug came from Kirstens viewer and i didnt manage to fix it... you have to start the viewer in maxed window and then go fullscreen , DO NOT start it in smaller window and resize it later , always start it maximised then the UI should be there , you can then make it smaller without problems , and no theres no real guide for it...people had to find out themself or just ask me , best would be to ask me inworld so i can directly help you NiranV Dean (Amethyst) |

My Mood: | I'll do that, thanks. Actually the next time I started the viewer it was maximized and everything is there that should be. Except for some of the bottom buttons, for some reason. These appear and disappear unpredictably. But I'll stick with it. On this viewer I get on high graphics the FPS I get on LL viewer with low. |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 6th Jan. 2007 Client: Nirans Viewer 2.x Blog Entries: 12 | thats very good , i guess performance is sometimes also depending on the compiler system , well anyway you could try the Shining Fixes Viewer which i´ve uploaded for testing purposes aswell , i get about double FPS with 16x AA and Deferred + Shadows + DoF of what i would get in my Viewer or any other Viewer (except Exodus which is based on this Shining Fixes Viewer) without 16x AA and Deferred + Shadows + DoF for the bottom buttons , it might be possible that i´ve set Project S19 as default and forgot to disable the default buttons... will check that all in next release |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 6th Jan. 2007 Client: Nirans Viewer 2.x Blog Entries: 12 | all buttons in the bottom are gone now for Project S19 , you can re enable them if you want in Preferences - Viewer - UI Settings will maybe take them to the topbar aswell , im not sure yet as this Viewer is intended as a advanced Viewer so it uses advanced knowledge over Camera controls , without those unnecessenary Move/View Controls CAMERA Short Tutorial in this: 1.(Hold)Alt = initializes the Camera movement Mode from which all following actions can be done 2.(Hold)Alt + (Click)L. Mouse = will focus on this position 3.(Hold)Alt + (Hold)L. Mouse + Move Mouse = will now zoom and/or rotate the cam 4.(Hold)Alt /L. Mouse + (Hold)CTRL = will allow you to pan the camera up and down and/or rotate it 5.(Release)Alt , (Hold)L. Mouse + (Hold)Shift + (Hold)CTRL = allows you to move the camera up , down , left and right NOTE: 3. You can release Alt AFTER you are holding down the Left Mouse Button , meaning that you only have to hold Mouse button down and move the mouse now to rotate the Cam 4./5. You can release Alt Button as long as you still hold atlast the Left Mouse button MOVEMENT Short Tutorial in this: [Egoshooter Layout] A W S D = rotate left , move forward , move backwards , rotate right Shift + A W S D = move left , move forward , move backwards , move right (Hold)L. Mouse on your Avatar + A W S D = Look around while strafing and moving forward/backwards E = Jump (Hold)E = Start flying E during Fly = Fly upwards (Hold)C = Duck/Crouch (Hold)C during Fly = Fly down and stop flying when hitting the ground with hold down C (Hold)Space = Stop or slow down Movement , slowmo walk , slowmo fall etc F = Start flying F during Fly = Stop Flying CTRL + R = Start/Stop always running [Alternative Layout] Arrow Left/Up/Down/Right = rotate left , move forward , move backwards , rotate right Shift + Arrow Left/Up/Down/Right = move left , move forward , move backwards , move right (Hold)L. Mouse on your Avatar + Arrow Left/Up/Down/Right = Look around while strafing and moving forward/backwards Page up = Jump (Hold)Page up = Start flying Page up during Fly = Fly upwards (Hold)Page down = Duck/Crouch (Hold)Page down during Fly = Fly down and stop flying when hitting the ground with hold down C Home = Start flying Home during Fly = Stop Flying Double tap Forward = Start running until you stop , then you´ll walk again I hope this has helped you to learn the Movement and Camera controls without using the floaters , those controls will speed up many processes in your daily SL life and will also be much more precise than any of those shity floater controls Last edited by NiranV Dean; 10-18-2011 at 07:38 PM. |

My Mood: | Thanks. I don't need the movement one much (handy for when page up doesn't trigger fly, though) but use the camera controls frequently for front view. ![]() This is still the only viewer I can set my graphics to high at all on. |

My Mood: SL Join Date: Oct 8th 2009 Client: Niran's Viewer | About AspectRatio... Niran, you're my hero. The viewer works beautifully; thank you for all of your hard work. Just one question about AspectRatio in the Graphics Settings: My LCD uses a ratio of 4:3, and I just wondered whether the 'fullscreen-aspect-ratio' setting should be either the '4' or the '3'. Maybe a stupid question, but it's the only setting I'm not sure of. As a sidenote, I and a few others are wondering if it was possible to put in an option (debug setting?) to adjust the height of the AV above the ground, as is possible in a few other viewers. For whatever reason, some have been having trouble with 'floating' a few inches above the ground, and it becomes noticable with lengthy shadows. [ just for the record, it's NOT your viewer that is responsible for this, the same result appears in all the others ] Once again, thanx Niran. (BTW, hope to see you in Ahern again soon) |

My Mood: | Build 7 beta 4 has been running quite smoothly for me, the only questions I have are minor. One is that my bottombar buttons for view and movement controls seem to be only per-session. Next time I start the viewer I have to re-add them. The other is I can't seem to find the option to not load the library items with the rest of the inventory. Oh, and BTW, what's HTTP inventory? I'd kind of like to know before I bork something... |
