Business: Happy Bivouac/Milk&Cream | That's a shame. Client Side AOs really should be standard. :\ I've heard vague talk of people working on multi-channel surround for SL. Have you heard anything about that? Seems like a good match for this viewer if there's anything like that out there.

Business: Happy Bivouac/Milk&Cream | One cute feature I really miss from Firestorm is the ability to have your avatar go into "ground sit" whenever you're "away". It was useful and cute. |

Business: Pose Monster | Someone I know goes away the instant she alt tabs out of SL, and her avatar slumps forward like it fell asleep staning up. The only other time I've seen that animation is on one of those prim Noob statues. I think it's kind of funny, when shes going back and forth between webpages and SL it looks as if her avatar has narcolepsy. I'm not sure how she got away to work instantly because the shortest time I see on the default LL viewer (shes afraid of tpvs) is 2mins.

My Mood: Client: Flavor of the week | Any idea about how to tweak the settings when sculpts go weird? This suddenly happened, I tried checking/unchecking almost every tab in advanced graphics and the develop menu > rendering. This is supposed to be pretty trees and a covered seating in the outer right edge.

The push should be to nudge LL to make an animation set asset type, so that we don't OVERRIDE animations, we REPLACE them. I feel the breakout of TPV Client AO's have just made people complacent and LL less inclined to provide a real solution. :/

Many people turned the timeout off because the viewer and server used to log you off / disconnect you for being in away mode for 30 minutes. The server no longer disconnects you for being afk, And newer viewers no longer log you out for doing it either. You have been able to idle in (away) mode for as long as you want for at least half a year now. However, many people still think they can't idle on SL without disabling their away timeout, so they still do or never put it back. Which is a shame, because it's an extremely useful signal.

My Mood: SL Join Date: 2007 Client: Usually Catznip but I dabble a lot in others | Niran, what was the last version of the viewer that still had the graphics categories? Low, High, Extreme, etc. I know for many they don't need that, prefer to custom tweak, but I found them very useful benchmarks for starting out and could tweak from there. I'm not as savvy as some and I'm struggling with the new layout and would like to go back to one that still had pre-sets so I can make myself some notes as to what the settings were to try to duplicate them in the current layout. |

Niran will cofirm or correct, but i'm pretty sure the last version that had it was 1.22. I miss the category/slider for a different reason as well, it was useful for switching quickly to lower graphics settings when needed and back again when not. Also, I have not been able to get near the FPS I had on my main PC since the preset slider went away. I suspect too much may have changed under the hood, as it were, for me to get it back, but do let me know if your experiment is successful. Sent from my SCH-I905 using Tapatalk

My Mood: SL Join Date: 2007 Client: Usually Catznip but I dabble a lot in others | I miss the quick buttons for a variety of reason like you mention Romana. It was really convenient to one click to lower my settings while I was setting up a photoshoot, wandering the sim to find just the right spot, chosing my animations and angles and what not. Then once I had it all set up a quick click to change my settings to extreme and then a few customizations if needed. I really do believe I get the best photographs from Nirans, especially since I have no post processing skills, but the more sophisticated the viewer gets the more I am starting to think I'm not the target market. It makes me sad really, as it is by far my viewer of choice for visuals and I was really beginning to enjoy SL photography and learning about depth of field and what not. I think I was even getting sort of good at it, even contemplated teaching myself machinima, but it's becoming far too complicated now for a part time hobby. I'm hoping if I go back and record what the settings were I can use those as starting points. It will mean having to change a dozen or more things each time instead of one button, but I don't know what else to do. Last edited by pancake; 03-19-2012 at 11:55 AM. |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 6th Jan. 2007 Client: Nirans Viewer 2.x Blog Entries: 12 | i might bring them back in future and yea its still there ... just not in the UI you can do it via Debug RenderQualityPerformance ...something like that... it made a lot of trouble , disabled options and made them completly unaivable even after raising the option again... when i´ve sorted that out you will be able to set simple Low Medium High Ultra presets again |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 6th Jan. 2007 Client: Nirans Viewer 2.x Blog Entries: 12 | i wish that would be easier possible and better looking...from what i´ve seen Linden Labs bought Windwardmark long ago to implement Windlight , even nearly 1:1 its controls , but the tech demos itself looked way better ....also this step was probably why some Weather menu entrys were left in the Viewer... if Linden would upgrade Windlight a bit they could make such scenes way easier and better looking ![]() this sky was made with a 4096 x 2048 snapshot of space and you see how low resolution it goes... because the cloud resolution has to be set enormious small... it would need a 10k x 10k snapshot to still make it look high resolution... (this space snapshot was not tilable , thats why i had to decrease cloud resolution) |

Business: Happy Bivouac/Milk&Cream | Is this added to the windlight skybox itself? (Also, I'm still sore LL never added Nimble's volumetric clouds. They promised it, Windlight already had it made. LL just failed to follow through, as always.) |
