| Radegast ![]() ![]() | Singularity 1.7 is finally here! It brings support for wearing multiple clothing items of the same kind, which is especially needed for having multiple alpha layers that many mesh clothing items come with. Updated rendering engine to the latest V3, new audio engine and much more. For details and downloads see 1.7.0 - Multi-Wear release! - Singularity Viewer |

My Mood: | Umm... anyone else having a hell of a time connecting with 1.7? Most of the time, it just immediately spits out "unable to connect to Second Life" and then maybe 1 in 20 times, it will begin to login, but hang at "Requesting region capabilities..." and then, 1 in 20 times again, it will actually complete the login process. 100% clean install, separate cache, etc etc etc. No problems connecting with other viewers. Am I missing something glaringly obvious? ![]() (ETA some hours later: checked the issue tracker and it seems to be a problem others are having as well. (Issue 399)) Last edited by Andromeda Rage; 07-18-2012 at 04:32 PM. |

SL Join Date: Early '06 or late '05, not sure. Client: Singularity | I connect fine and performance is noticeably better than the 1.6.0(3) release but it really likes to crash on tp. I have figured out that if I close everything but the landmark panel it's much less likely to crash, but it's still crashy. And if I have Inventory or the map open it's almost 100% likely. |

My Mood: Client: I try all of them, but for everyday use it's Cool VL Viewer. | Cool VL Viewer is also porting the 3.3 render code and Henri makes mention of some possible problems with Linux and Windows XP users on his forum ( Cool VL Viewer forum - View topic - Latest Windows releases ). I have a friend who uses XP 64bit and is having a hard time with Singularity 1.7.0 (but loves and has no problem with 1.6.0.3), so I pointed her to the mention by Henri. She said that information didn't help because XP 64bit doesn't have an SP3. So I pointed her to the little parantheses that says (get it there) in Henri's post which points to a Visual C++ 2005 redistributable update that may not have been downloaded at the same time as SP3 on 32bit systems or may have been overlooked in the updates to XP 64bit. I haven't checked back with her yet to see if that helped or not. If someone else tries it, please post your experience with it ? I have also noted that at each login that my login destination preference reverts to Last Location instead of Home Location even though Home is chosen in preferences. Does this happen on anyone else's ? The new FMOD Ex audio engine also seems to be a bit touchy to lag and will loop more often ? I will add the problems to the Issue Tracker if it's not just me. same problem, here. the unable to login popup is there instantly, as if it didn't even attempt to make a connection. no variation, whatsoever. ah, well.

It doesn't work with Singularity or with the beta version of Coolviewer VL Viewer. ETA I'm wrong about Singularity -it turns out that if you've specified a preset, you can see it by selecting world->environment settings-> revert to region default. Why you don't see it by default is beyond me --maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere...

| If you've specified a preset, you're saying you don't want to see the default?

Singularity doesn't seem to respect that, to see those settings when you enter the region, it appears that you have to go through the world->environment settings-> revert to region default dance if you want to see what you've specifed as the windlight settings for the region. Kokua, Zen, Firestorm and Phoenix all load the windlight automatically. Last edited by Han Held; 08-04-2012 at 12:31 AM. Reason: clarification

| "That specifies the 'default' windlight settings for the region. " That is, the region default. If you've specified a preset in the viewer, that's saying you don't want to see the region default. Or are you saying that if you've already set region default, and haven't specified a preset, you have to select "region default" again? I don't know, I long since came up with a day cycle override that I need to use because SL doesn't allow you to set nighttime gamma any more, and there's no way I'm going to enable region windlight settings... when I have people have inevitably set them too dark for me even in the daytime, let alone night. |

On my osgrid sim (OpenSim 0.7.4.dev.6ee17f5) which is hosted on a mono 2.10.8/linux vps, Nothing will happen when I TP back from another estate. When I TP back from another region in the same estate the proper windlight will start to load, but then be replaced with what looks like the environment settings-> midday settings.

| Mostly I use the LL viewer, but ......... I like to ride motorcycles in SL and the Singualrity viewer is MUCH more smoother than the LL viewer most times when I ride. There are sims that cause the LL viewer to skip and pause, freeze briefly, and next I know I'm in a river. Singualrity runs smoothly in the same sims I have trouble with, even at high draw and graphics settings. I hope that when Singularity gets mesh compatability, that it will still be the excellent viewer it is now and continue to run smoothly. Thanks Siana for Singularity and all the best, Gourug *** I just downloaded the newest version and can see mesh now. I just tried it out in a sim I have trouble with, settings at the default High setting. All I can say is --- WOW! Last edited by Gourug; 09-07-2012 at 11:30 PM. Reason: downloaded new version |

SL Join Date: Early '06 or late '05, not sure. Client: Singularity | The crash on tp issue seems to be gone or at least greatly reduced as I've only crashed on tp once in the last few days. I've not run into the random mutex failure crashes either. |
