I didn't see a thread here for this new viewer, but i saw it mentioned in another thread and am trying it.

Lordgreggreg released his own viewer today, called Emergence.

Its seems virtually the same as the Emerald 2270, but without the dramaz and with some minor aesthetic differences.

It looks like it is only available for Windows atm.

I haven't used Emerald for some months so I wouldn't know the difference but it does load images fast.

Cool VL Viewer 1.23.5.xx gives me a better framerate, though...

Still, for Emerald users, Emergence is a good alternative until they find a viewer they can switch too...

I just installed Emergence and when the splash screen came up it said "You need to update Emergence! Go HERE now!"

Well of course I'm not going anywhere without LGG saying himself that it's safe to do so. Has anyone else received this message after installing the viewer? It's not that I don't trust LGG, it's that I don't trust others out there with their own agendas.

I think that's an update. The one I have installed is version 1.5 but the one in Google Code is version 1.5.0.1

He must have done a minor fix or something.

I am really really interested in this viewer but the first install the other day (prior to this update) ate up memory like crazy (700,000) and I'd love to use it save for that since that's almost all of available memory I have on my older computer.

I forgot to copy down the breast physics settings before I uninstalled Emerald and now I have to figure them out again for Emergence! Does anybody have them?

Hi Aztec, can I suggest you change the link in your first post, so it points to the main page emergence-viewer - Project Hosting on Google Code

It points to the download page for Emergence 1.5.0 and a new user could easily get the impression that is the only / current version.

lol...there IS an Aztec Aeon in SL and that person has made quite a few $L off me, when people who meant to send me money, sent it to that account instead.

One person sent 31K O-o. Fortunately LL helped out.

Some antivirus apps seems to be very very sensitive to some installers, and the way they handle files or connections. We had that issue with one of the Emerald installers before, and just recently a friend told me they had issues with the 1.5.0.1 installer and Norton.

The only way to make sure there is to simply let a second good antivirus app check it (I would suggest the online virustotal scanner, but it only allows 20mb uploads). Usually it shows that it's a false positive.

I'm not sure if it's an issue with the free installer package systems, or antivirus apps being more geared to handle proprietary install solutions like Installshield.
