| Greenlife Emerald Viewer Emerald Viewer Has anyone tried this? I've heard a lot of people talking about it in the last week, and I'd never heard of it before. I looked it up, and it has some interesting features: Quote:

| Great viewer from some folks behind the scenes. Going to be full GPL, like Imprudence. Thumbs up!

My Mood: | Emerald has alot of tasty features that used to be shared between a group of folks that tend to make their own personal viewers :3 A kind of collaborative feature pool if you want. A few of my own client's features that got shared are in it, like the Phantom, doubleclick-TP, sitclick blocking and chat-line command handling/teleports. I am not directly involved in the development of Emerald, but expect more stuff to come :3

My Mood: | Good question..that, I don't know. I know it works with objects, but if clothes do the same... My suggestion is to simply test it. I can't, right now. |

My Mood: | I haven't ran Emerald myself yet, as I have my own viewer thingies, and as I said am not -directly- involved with Emerald..but it really should not be. I'd be interested in hearing about other people's experiences with it. If there really is a hard fps hit, this needs reporting to the Emerald devs, as both Emerald and Cool Viewer are based on 1.22 right now, methinks. Differences'd speak of a bug. By the way, check the preferences under ctrl+p. There is a new Emerald tab there. See if the feature can be activated. |

Cool Viewer otoh runs at about 30-40 FPS consistently at our home sim. I'm going to try some other things and see if those work. :/

My Mood: SL Join Date: May 2007 XBOX Leaderboard: 19th | Mh. Is it possible that problem is caused by using the OpenSource JPG thingey instead of the proprietary files? Just ran the "copy prop files" and it seems to be much better already. |

My Mood: SL Join Date: May 2007 XBOX Leaderboard: 19th | It runs perfectly now I've used it for a while. Though I still prefer the CV UI, this viewer has much cooler tools and options. Would be perfect if there was a mod with CVs UI and GLEVs options though. |

Business: Darkly Cute | Double click teleport and the scanner are epic features. I was able to cam 3 sims over (Where land rendering starts to slightly drop off) and *poof* myself right on over there. The scanner picks up each and every avatar without to LSL sensor limits that Mystitool has to put up with. And, the window has Kick/Ban/AR buttons at the ready. (^_^) Still... CV's UI and "Get IMs the heck out of my chat console" is the feature holding on to me. For now, I'm sticking with Cool. (^_^)y

Business: Darkly Cute | The best part is that it totally ignores TP landing points set... I spent a good two hours *poof*ing my avatar all over the Kuula sandbox... On walls, skyboxes, hillsides, in the middle of crowds to say "HI!!!" and *poof* away just as quickly. My utter annoyance level went up tenfold that day. =^-^= |

I'm however somewhat concerned about all the overlaps and double work. Sure, each has her/his favourite, but in the end it's all pretty much the same. And there is not really any better or worse or faster or slower or whatsoever viewer. Stick with what you like and help us to keep going . No competition here, at least not for me *smiles*

What's handy to me: - every profile shows the avatar's key above their name. Handy for setting up the contests at SVN. Otherwise I need to run special scripts or (if the person is not yet online when I'm setting shit up) look them up in the online av key database - ability to hide teleport, login and logout progress screens. I have the login one still enabled, but the others I scrapped. Much more fluid experience. - CTRL-ALT-S and CTRL-ALT-P quick keys for force groundsit (anywhere) and force phantom (without requiring build rights to drop a phantom sit shield thingey). Not really the deal sealer for me, but they come in handy regardless.

My Mood: | Doubleclick-TPs are teh seks. Been using them for a long time, and it's the single feature I do -not- want to miss again. -Evar-. You can, by the way, doubleclick-TP into other sims you see ;P Sadly it's not possible to ignore telehubs tho, and some other specific parcel TP points. :| It sucks, hard. |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 5/13/2006 | Oh this is just too cool. Double click to TP is gonna come in very fun. Frame rates seem to be about 75% - 85% of CV and KirstenLee's (shadows off) but the features on here might just win me over. Thanks for asking about this...first I'd ever heard of it.
