Greenlife Emerald Viewer

Emerald Viewer

Has anyone tried this?

I've heard a lot of people talking about it in the last week, and I'd never heard of it before. I looked it up, and it has some interesting features:

Quote:
  • Avatar Scanner
    • Full sim range (detects over 1M in the air)
    • Shows name, age, payment info, current activity.
    • Land and estate commands for ejecting/banning multiple avatars at once
    • Buttons to open profile, IM, teleport to or track selected avatars
    • Ability to chat radar info (keys) to boost lsl radars
    • Ability to display chat notifications for entering sim, exiting sim, entering chat range, exiting chat range, entering draw distance and exiting draw distance respectively.
  • Different login page
  • Ability to open and display the owner and location of objects that IM you
  • Teleport to positions by double clicking
  • Option to disabling progress screens (teleport, login, and logout respectively)
  • Clothing layer protection (prevents sending of individual clothing textures to other clients, ensuring they can't copy the clothing)
  • Customizeable IM Autoreponse system, including giving inventory in the response
  • Fly can be set to always enabled, even with Admin menu closed
  • Can turn your avatar 'visually phantom'
  • Allows ground sit anywhere
  • Can enable the attaching of objects in inventory by double-click
  • Can block object sit-on-click
  • Chatbar as a command line for rezzing platforms, teleporting to coordinates or sims, or teleporting to particular heights.
  • Various crash fixes
  • Free uploading of "temporary" textures (sim-local and disappear on relog)
  • Notification when a friendship ends
  • Detection of cooperating alternative viewers
  • Shows object last owner in build floater
  • Scripts are compiled to mono by default in agent inventory
  • Inventory is fetched in background immediately on login
  • Group info can be accessed in about land, even if group is not deeded
  • Profiles show agent key
  • More minimap dot colors, blue for lindens, grey for muted, and purple for friended lindens
  • Build Floater Enhancements
    • More object choices (from the drop down that lets you change a cube to a sphere)
    • More precision information (5 decimal points)
    • Ability to set all prim parameters without changing shape (easy prim torture)
    • Ability to easily change skulpt stitching
    • Can set transparency to 100%
    • Can set texture repeats above 100
  • Can turn of the typing sound
  • Teleport History Floater
  • Animation Info Floater
    • Shows you all current animations being played on your avatar
    • Allows you to stop, or revoke permissions of animations you do not want
    • Ability to detect owner of the animations being played, as well as their name
  • Included the 1.23 Bulk Permissions Setting
  • Option to block the 1 click auto sit
  • New custom skin

Great viewer from some folks behind the scenes. Going to be full GPL, like Imprudence. Thumbs up!

I don't know in what directions the viewers will go, somehow things are culminating, somehow issues are spreading like with RLV now. It's all a big mess as whole SL is nothing but a mess. So we are compatible

Emerald has alot of tasty features that used to be shared between a group of folks that tend to make their own personal viewers :3 A kind of collaborative feature pool if you want. A few of my own client's features that got shared are in it, like the Phantom, doubleclick-TP, sitclick blocking and chat-line command handling/teleports.

I am not directly involved in the development of Emerald, but expect more stuff to come :3

Do they have double click wear for objects in inventory? Honestly I can't imagine using SL without that anymore.

Good question..that, I don't know. I know it works with objects, but if clothes do the same...

My suggestion is to simply test it. I can't, right now.

Thanks. Installed it just a moment ago, and it seems to work for clothes (default SL behaviour) but doesn't work for objects (like in Nicholaz/CV).

But WTF.

This viewer is MUUUUUCH slower than Cool Viewer.

I haven't ran Emerald myself yet, as I have my own viewer thingies, and as I said am not -directly- involved with Emerald..but it really should not be. I'd be interested in hearing about other people's experiences with it.

If there really is a hard fps hit, this needs reporting to the Emerald devs, as both Emerald and Cool Viewer are based on 1.22 right now, methinks. Differences'd speak of a bug.

By the way, check the preferences under ctrl+p. There is a new Emerald tab there. See if the feature can be activated.

A simple blue popup from a group notice or a tutorial message freezes SL for 2 seconds, then appears like a slideshow at 1 frame per 2 seconds.

Cool Viewer otoh runs at about 30-40 FPS consistently at our home sim.

I'm going to try some other things and see if those work. :/

DoubleU-Tee-Eff?

I know a load of Emerald users, but none have reported -that- kind of problem so far.

Hrm.

Mh. Is it possible that problem is caused by using the OpenSource JPG thingey instead of the proprietary files? Just ran the "copy prop files" and it seems to be much better already.

That could indeed be. You should have a llkdu.dll in your Emerald folder.

It runs perfectly now I've used it for a while.

Though I still prefer the CV UI, this viewer has much cooler tools and options.

Would be perfect if there was a mod with CVs UI and GLEVs options though.

Double click teleport and the scanner are epic features. I was able to cam 3 sims over (Where land rendering starts to slightly drop off) and *poof* myself right on over there. The scanner picks up each and every avatar without to LSL sensor limits that Mystitool has to put up with. And, the window has Kick/Ban/AR buttons at the ready. (^_^)

Still... CV's UI and "Get IMs the heck out of my chat console" is the feature holding on to me. For now, I'm sticking with Cool. (^_^)y

That is awesome, and something I wish could be added officially.

The best part is that it totally ignores TP landing points set... I spent a good two hours *poof*ing my avatar all over the Kuula sandbox... On walls, skyboxes, hillsides, in the middle of crowds to say "HI!!!" and *poof* away just as quickly. My utter annoyance level went up tenfold that day. =^-^=

The teleport is already in the latest CV. The scanner code is still not final, Thomas is still working on it (the original was from Dale Glass and had a lot of Luskwood specific features). So it will come soon in CV.

I'm however somewhat concerned about all the overlaps and double work. Sure, each has her/his favourite, but in the end it's all pretty much the same. And there is not really any better or worse or faster or slower or whatsoever viewer. Stick with what you like and help us to keep going . No competition here, at least not for me *smiles*

The teleport is one of those things, but I wasn't really talking of the scanner. Prefer Mystitool, over a viewer scanner anyway.

What's handy to me:

- every profile shows the avatar's key above their name. Handy for setting up the contests at SVN. Otherwise I need to run special scripts or (if the person is not yet online when I'm setting shit up) look them up in the online av key database

- ability to hide teleport, login and logout progress screens. I have the login one still enabled, but the others I scrapped. Much more fluid experience.

- CTRL-ALT-S and CTRL-ALT-P quick keys for force groundsit (anywhere) and force phantom (without requiring build rights to drop a phantom sit shield thingey). Not really the deal sealer for me, but they come in handy regardless.

Oh, I must see what this means what I think it means.

This is physical phantom; and unable to move. I am disappointed, oh well.

Doubleclick-TPs are teh seks. Been using them for a long time, and it's the single feature I do -not- want to miss again. -Evar-. You can, by the way, doubleclick-TP into other sims you see ;P

Sadly it's not possible to ignore telehubs tho, and some other specific parcel TP points. :| It sucks, hard.

I belive it does have the double click wear option. I began using Emerald this weekend and am very happy with it.

Oh this is just too cool.

Double click to TP is gonna come in very fun.

Frame rates seem to be about 75% - 85% of CV and KirstenLee's (shadows off) but the features on here might just win me over.

Thanks for asking about this...first I'd ever heard of it.
