I kinda do the same thing! For a long time I had about six or seven avatars I would swap between! I was always a hyena at heart, but eventually I just settled on being one all the time.
I do have a human version of my avatar, oddly enough. It was something interesting for me to explore, as weird as that sounds. xD I was thinking about making some sort of hybrid at some point. (Even though a furry is an animal human hybrid to begin with, right?)

It makes me wonder sometimes though, why I'm only comfortable as human. I have friends who are furries, I have a handful of furry avatars of my own (including a cute orange fox that I rather like). I think it's not something that has to be wondered about really, you know? It's all in what you're comfortable with. And while a fox can certainly be the same color as you, it isn't
you. I think most of us on
SL have this ideal, "I sure wish I could be that" thing goin' on. And for me, that ideal is a miscolored hyena. I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable wearing around say, an elf avatar (no matter the fact that elves are sexy!) for more than a few hours.
