So I tried to be earth friendly and slash my driving budget by getting the scooter. Loved it, fun to drive. Hauls me and the GF around fine except for one problem. It won't do the interstate. I NEED to be able to get down the highway with show props and costumes etc.
So yesterday I bought an '83 Honda Silverwing GL650 Interstate. I had 2 of over the years and it's a great bike. 47 MPG and only costs $125 a year to insure.
Of course I had to slap $50 worth of Antique Brass Poly Flake and a couple coats of clear lacquer on it. I still have to do some graphic stripes and pin striping but the paint has to cure first.
She was garage kept for 14 years. A mechanic bought it and put new tires, hoses, brakes etc. and then his truck motor blew up. I got the bike for $1000 and he was on the phone with the engine guy before I drove away. Only 34k miles and I'm a happy camper.
It's not the scooter but it's a lot better than an SUV!
