So yes, I blew my top in here. There was absolutely no reason for the two responses my original post got - given what the thread was about, and what limited of a context I posted in.

Mere mention of some idealized aspect of native culture does not justify that kind of response. And in the context of what this thread was originally about, that kind of native-hostile response was even less justified.
I'll try one more time because I'm stubborn and masochistic.

It wasn't an attack on your roots. It was an attack on a concept. I see nothing personal about it, and Hypatia took pains to post again immediately to say that many Europeans societies were as bad or worse. I think perhaps you missed that post or overlooked it and interpreted her first reply in an overly personal manner, which everyone does at times.
