I am sad as the rest of you are that the decision has been made to close Second Citizen. I even offered money to FIC to keep it open but he's just beyond the point of no return on dealing with it all. I can understand that just from the short experience I had with dealing with the chaos the last time around.
As a portion of users from the site may start posting here as an alternative, I wanted to first of all say that you are all welcome. That said, please understand this is not Second Citizen. While this site is not heavily moderated, it is moderated. I will lock threads before letting them go completely to hell, and will remove posts and ban users that cause persistent problems. Otherwise, it is very light moderation. I do ask that you keep things civil - always a tall order I know, but thus far it has worked well here with very little intervention from me, and I would like it to stay that way.
I know there is going to be a lot of pent up frustration and angst over the loss of Second Citizen, and I will give a lot of leeway on that - please keep it in the Second Citizen Refugees forum though. I will be more hands off with that forum for now than the rest of the site. However, it doesn't mean anything goes either. Don't purposely push the limits to see where they are, that is not productive and I don't have the tolerance for it that FIC did (and you see where that led).
I hope people can try to actually starting over instead of just dragging all of the ugly stuff from SC that led to the closure in the first place.
If you have any questions or comments, please let me know, and again, welcome.
