Those figures are a little higher than what I'm seeing but not too different - Since the OS announcement we've had 1124 new regions and 3386 going off line for a net loss of 2262 regions. 383 of these were renames. Potentially the 3386 could have all been openspaces - but there was a natural surrender rate of c.50 or 60 a week before the announcement - If you take the c360 natural wastage and the 382 renames an estimate I'd say its probably more in the region of 2600 to 2700 fewer OS's in total.
@Aki - I don't think the IBM network is substantial other than in prestige - Their visible presence is much unchanged at 20 to 30 sims , I doubt the private network is much bigger - compared with a main grid of just under 30,000
