My Mood: SL Join Date: November, 2007 | I'm just so at a loss. The wording of the message seems to be word-for-word what I got when I was ARed during the blitz build. It reads like it was copy-pasted from the old blog entry. I'm not sure what actions Robin has taken, but, in my own event I had to re-open the issue and do a lot of footwork with the Lindens to make sense of things. Finally I posed my challenge as a question... I guess I can get away with exact wording here as opposed to the official forum: "What part of my chat conversation, behaviour, appearance, activity, environment, or surrounding company could have been perceived to involve ageplay to the degree that justified a one hour suspension of my account?
In addition... Was the abuse report against me investigated at all prior to my suspension from the grid?"
My guess is that my approach of networking and requiring an explanation was enough for them to actually review their said policies with enough critique to respond with this: "Hi there,
Linden Lab has reviewed, at your request, a discipline action recently taken against your account.
Our investigation shows that the discipline may have been applied in error; we apologize for the mistake. We have also noted the correction in our records for your account.
If any further information is required, Linden Lab will contact you regarding this incident. Otherwise, please consider the matter resolved as no further communications will be sent.
Best wishes, and again, our apologies,
Linden Lab and the Second Life Community team" Mind you, I got the Email during my attendance of the Gteam office hours and at the moment. In addition, this was also the result of re-opening the ticket. The first response I got was much more generic and frankly ignorant of my initial concerns.
This is probably my selfish side. But, a situation like this is not something I'd like to see quietly [Resolved]. I'm sure a few people here remember seeing my thread on the official forums that did obviously violate forum guidelines, but, still offered the publicity needed to see that it was the start of something going greatly wrong.
Mari, I hope that Robin and you have the resources and energy to fight this and expose this effing ridiculous move that LL has made. Ask questions. Try to get information (even in vain) as to how many ARs were actually targeted at the vendors in question. Have the content reviewed ad-nauseum and in public form to get a context of how they could even be possibly offensive in the first place.
I know and I'm fully aware that I'm a person of reasonable obscenity and perversion. I also know that it doesn't take much to see the good in people. Mari, Robin, Second Life Children, and the Livingtree sim are all very good and positive assets to SL as a whole. To see people and places like this under attack is truely and purely shameful. |
