Except that Joe Sixpack AKA Joe the Plumber doesn't realize the difference between an AK-47 's being sold to the public that are semi-automatic and in many cases demilitarized (wouldnt want to be able to attach a bayonet or have a flip up one
) and purchased after a background check and signing appropriate (and standard) forms from BATF, (purchased legally) versus the much touted criminals with AK's who have full auto versions obtained illegally and used in criminal acts. Joe Sixpack Plumber thinks that no one should own a dreaded, nasty AK 47 cause that's what Scarface had and that's bad
So punishing the good people to go after the bad people and ultimately not affecting the bad people at all--is the problem and concern.
