| Sarah Palin will go back to Alaska, where she remains very popular, and will perhaps win another term or two as Governor. The next logical step for her would be US Senator. She probably has a reasonable shot at representing her state in the Senate if she continues to do well by Alaskan standards. A term as US Senator, and perhaps an appointment on an important committee or two, could give her some experience upon which to build a candidacy for president. I am not sure I see that happening though.
No matter how much she has "energized" the base of the Republican party, the truth is that most republicans realize she is not qualified to be the president of the United States. If McCain loses this year, as it certainly seems he will, the party will not be anxious to repeat the mistakes of 2008, and certainly not in 2012. |
