I'm not saying that is the case, and I'm certainly not saying that you'd be comfortable with that. But I am certain about one thing: the poor showing that John McCain is building, and shows no signs of abating, can NOT be laid just at the feet of his inept campaign or his own less-than-compelling presence to a populace.
Something is at work here, Ramonna. One thing I did, when Bush won not once, but twice, was to try and understand how this could happen. If what I think is going to happen in a few short weeks does indeed occur, everyone might do well by thinking about it for a while, and trying to come to grips with just how it came about.
And I'm thinking it isn't going to be a close one, like Bush's two elections.
