I actually have thought about letting people mod the walls next year, since this conversation. I'll bring it up at a meeting, but it'd have to only be for the freestanding booths. Letting people mod things with shared walls and floors is an invitation for trouble. All you need is one person accidentally selecting the entire wall instead of just one face, and suddenly their neighbor's booth is messed up. :/ |

Another solution could be to sell the actual booths to the vendors for 0L$ (or an extra fee for mod rights) once set up starts. That way, the booths would keep their exact dimensions/placement. You could then specify "you can mod this and this ONLY! Booths must remain in their position...you can make the walls taller...shorter...but not thicker...don't change the outside texture...bla bla bla.. If in doubt, ask me, or better yet, don't do it. kthx"
If you feel adventurous and decide to let smaller vendors texture their own walls too, you could also sell them the booths --walls only-- (provided of course that you made the middle walls out of two distinct parts so everyone gets their own side to texture...to avoid booboos!)
However, allowing small booths around the expo to texture their own walls might open another can of worms, such as someone thinking their neighbor is on acid and that their texture choice is an affront to good taste and human dignity. One's idea of chic can sometimes be another person's worst nightmare

Being told no is never fun. Having to say no is even more difficult. Hang in there!
PS: It's too late to allow changes now anyway... everyone will know who it is if you let her put up her glass walls and it will end up in an epic Miriel fans vs Undisclosed fans battle.

Eep!!
