I think the terrorist boogeyman is only going so far. The further away we get from 9/11 with no additional attacks, the less it is at the forefront of voters minds. it does get trumped out during the campaign as a scare tactic, but the economy is in such dismal shape and people are tired of seeing billions of dollars go to iraq that could be used to rebuild our own country. The War on Terror doesn't have the sway it once did.
