Science is fully capable of defending itself - when your position is based on evidence and testing, and you're willing to adapt to new evidence, that's not the issue. But it's difficult to convince people who simply don't listen or refuse to understand what you're saying.

Just once in my last decade of discussing evolution on the web, I'd have loved to encounter a creationist who didn't misrepresent science and evolution. But they're batting 1.00 so far, as every single one of them has been jousting with their own half-baked, ill-informed version of evolution rather than the real Theory of Evolution. I guess maybe it's easier to knock down that way?
