This is one of those areas where I'll freely admit there is a huge gender disparity. What you women have to put up with when it comes to dealing with your appearance is mind-boggling and totally unfair. I'm considered decent if I have on a clean shirt and jeans and my socks match. Women suffer. FWIW, I hold my GF to the same standard of appearance as I hold myself. If she wants to throw on whatever clothes she has handy and put on a baseball cap to hide whatever her hair is looking like, then roll out of the house with no make-up, hairy legs and comfortable shoes on, that's cool with me. God knows that's what I do.
EDIT: Since she reads these forums (Hi Oryx!) I should point out that she doesn't do this, even though it would be ok by me. She goes through that whole girl ritual and it invariably looks like a scene from Beauty and the Beast when we go out together. I don't want anyone getting the wrong impression. |
