I completely agree. I welcome criticism. It will make me better. But I think there's a difference between someone telling me that they hate something I made for whatever reason, and someone coming here and publically posting that I suck and I'm a hack and then ridiculing me publically. The former might sting a bit, but I'll take it to heart and try to do better. The latter is just hurtful and likely to make me quit building altogether.
I just rented a bit of shop space and I've put some things out for sale, so I fully expect the criticism and ridicule to start pouring in. I just hope I don't get called out and humiliated in front of my friends.
