The one thing I was ok with in the original series was that the original KITT was fairly conservative in design. It was nearly identical to a stock Firebird, except for the extra lighting and the ridiculous steering wheel. It actually makes sense to keep the look simple. Storywise, the car could blend in and mullet headed, greasy medallion wearing Trans Am fanboys would leave it alone. I saw the pilot a few months ago, and the look of the car was ok. Now, for the series, they added this horrible looking thing. They took a perfectly ok looking car and handed it over to a design staff of 14 year olds. It looks like something a kid would scribble in their notebooks during detention. |
If you saw the trailer you'll know that it transforms from an almost normal-looking Mustang, to that attack mode (the pic), and into a pickup.
The "ordinary" mode looks like just any other modded street racer. With all the bling neon lights street racers use, the red scanner lights will blend in just fine.
The original series was flawed all over ... but damn guilty fun.
