I watched the pilot. It was OK. Nothing awesome, nothing horrible. What annoyed me was they had the perfect voice for KITT but they had to let him go because of some stupid contractual conflict. Who'd they replace him with?

Val Kilmer.

And yeah, I like the car design too. If the show can keep that cheesy-but-entertaining feel that the original had, I'll probably keep watching it. It's a fine line though.
