As far as cow's milk:
There is a USDA campaign about 1 glass of milk a day being healthy. It is cause you got calcium vitamins and all that. It is also one of the best sources of calcium with prevents osteoporisis.

They always claim that milk has a high level of calcium, but they can't explain why the nordic countries, Sweden for instance, has one of highest percentage of people diagnosed with osteoporoses. At the same time we're one of biggest consumers of cow milk.
From what I've heard, it's true that milk has a high level of calcium, but also a substance that breaks down the calcium.
