My Mood: SL Join Date: 10-21-2004 | To all you SLX fans out there! You need not apply.
But for those who are anti-slx and Anshe Chung.. your savior may have just arrived. SL Forums Quote: Have you had bad experiences at the website SL Exchange? aka SLX
Hi, I am very active in Second Life and for the most part I love it - despite some issues with instability and service disruptions.
However, I have had some extremely unpleasent personal experiences when I have left SL to venture into third-party websites designed to take your money outside of SL.
I am concerned about a website called SL Exchange aka SLX*.
They are basically money changers, who also sell products which can be transferred into the SL envrionment.
They are owned** by Anshe Chung***, who apparently may use third-world labor to alledgedly try to undercut the creative community in SL by dumping cheap items under the name "Ten Linden" ...elaborate although generally uninspired creations that sell for ten lindens... while people working for a living wage MUST charge more to support themselves and their families, and pay taxes.
If you have had problems with this site, including alleged sales of your stolen merchandise, possible harrassment and abuse by SLX staff employees when you have tried to draw attention to problems there, or other issues of a perceived, possibly questionable or unprofessional manner...
PLEASE do the following:
1. Contact me inworld to help document and report aledged concerns
2. Join my group...
SLX Exposed
Search groups or my profile for group information. Membership will always be free, and AT THIS TIME is open to everyone.
3. TELL YOUR FRIENDS how you feel and why.
We will be adding a commercial-grade website to facilitate our activities.
I wish to stress that I am in NO WAY impuning the ethics, character, professionalism or honesty and integrity of SLX, Anshe Chung, SLX owners and employees, nor any other person or entity associated with SL Exhange.
I further wish to stress that I am ONLY seeking information, and trying to provide people who may have possible issues with SL Exchange a forum outside of the control and censorship of SLX to air their concerns in a possitive, upbeat manner.
I am in NO WAY accusing SLX, its owners, members, employees, or oither persons or organizations associated with SLX, with the deliberate sale of stolen merchandise, with fraud or misrepresentation with the intent to cheat shoppers at SLX, and with organized harrassment and/or abuse of people who raise these issues or other concerns and air them publicly.
I am in NO WAY trying to impede the operation of their business nor harm their company or their repiutaion in any way.
I wish to note that SLX provides multiple venues to criticize and grade the sellrs who participate there. I am merely seeking an uncensored means of providing the same service regarding the professional and ethical performance of SLX itself... and am doing so in the same spirit of transparency and buyer education employed by SLX in the critiques they permit of their clients, customers and sellers.
Thank you.
Miss Poddy Collins
*SL Exchange aka SLX is the registered business name/acronym of a third-[party online business not directly affiliated with the virtual world Second Life. This poster has NO affiliation with SL Exhange aka SLX. The names are used here to encourage discussion and the collection of information.
** Ansha Chung is a significant owner who has, at various times, been listed as a SLX site admin and also has had the power to independently make changes to the structural setup of the SLX sales website to favor her products over other sellers.
***Anshe Chung operates as SLX owner, and sells as "Ten Linden" there, entirely independent of SL, thus her name in this use in this thread does NOT violate any terms of service of SL or for posting in this forum.
| At the rate the official forums have been moderated lately.. I give that thread at least a day to live.
