Some skins are modifiable, and allow for some slight adjustments to skintone or lipstick. Many skins don't allow you to make any changes at all. You can change your shape though, it is separate to your skin (the skin is just the texture on top of your shape).

Depends on the skin. I would not choose Redgrave if you want your face to look pretty much the same as it is now - Redgrave will make you look dramatically different. Always try a demo before purchasing to make sure the skin gives you the look you want.

It really depends on the look you want to achieve. Some people like photorealistic skins, others prefer hand drawn style. I like Fleur skins for variety and value for money, they also don't seem to make your face look dramatically different. So many other good skin designers, check out the Fashion Feed perhaps? Fashion World of SL You'll see tons of different skins on there.

Yes. Go into appearance mode, and at the bottom choose "Make Outfit". You can then choose to have everything you are wearing including your skin and shape saved in a subfolder in the Clothing folder in your inventory. Name the folder to something you'll remember. Watch out if anything you are wearing is no copy though, it will be moved to that new folder.
