I agree that lumping
SL in with MMORPGs was really dumb. Still, how much big news has been coming out of
SL lately? I mean news that would be interesting to people not already in
SL? As a platform, it's been pretty stagnant, which has likely contributed to the growing apathy directed towards it. Stability is great and all, and
SL is a lot more stable now than it was a year ago, but the biggest thing we've seen beyond that has been Windlight.
Content creation tools haven't changed much at all. We've seen a parade of corporations come and go. We've seen a new CEO step in to parrot the same company line we've all heard over and over by now. What passes for "big announcements" these days seems to be awards handed out for rationalizing
SL, and impractical control devices.
Maybe I'm not looking at this the right way?
