| I was walking down by the old canal one day when a huge torrent of water came gushing down. As it raced down the gulley, I noticed a bunch of debris, and clinging to a piece of roof was a mother dog and three puppies. Well, I was scared out of my gourd, and I don't mind saying it. I was pulling out my cell phone to dial for the help that I knew would arrive far too late to do any good, when out of nowhere, this beautiful woman came roaring up on a huge motorcycle. Skidding to a stop, she pulled a bullwhip off of her hip and sent the tip skimming out through the air to wrap several times around a tree that overhung the canal.
With three quick strides, she swung herself out over the water, dangling from the whip one-handed like Tarzan. The next thing I knew, all of the puppies and the mom were safely ashore. She looked at me and said, "Keep them safe, I have work to do." and swung right back out over the torrential rush of churning white water. Three trips out and back and she had collected a gallon container of used motor oil, a baggie full of used hypodermic syringes and a 50 gallon drum of nuclear waste that had been stuck under water and in serious danger of being ruptured.
"Environmental protection is everyone's business," she said as she scratched the puppies behind the ear. Before I could even thank her, in a flash, she was gone.
That, my friends, is how Sarah Nerd saved a family of puppies and prevented an environmental catastrophe in less that 5 minutes.
Yep. Sarah Nerd rocks. |
