My Mood:

While this thread is risen, I would like to share my personal disappointment... no outrage at rezzable.

The first time I saw anything done by rezzable were the Greenies creations littered around sandboxes. I was impressed because back then they were genuinely good. Then they got their own greenies sim! The attention to details was astounding, super huge environments made you feel small. It was great. At the time my understanding was they were doing it to just do it. "Fuck yeah!" I thought, doing shit to just do shit. Further exploring the sim you'd eventually end up at their shop where they sold Greenies avs. I had thought that's a pretty good business model, but not something to sustain a sim indefinitely. Then I noticed the subtle product placements later, and I thought they were pretty smart.

Speed up the timeline a bit...

Rezzable has a few sims I've noticed now, and I am sort of meh about them, but they still have sims and after reading a few articles I am under the impression they just do them to do them. They're pretty secretive and stuff about their business, so that's the best assumption.

Forward to shortly after IAL. I was without a SL-INWORLD job at the time and applying at various places, and rezzable was one of my top 3, I sent a nice descriptive email out, and never got a reply. About the same time I discovered the Second Life - The Wastelands & Post Apocalyptic Pool on flickr. This is still, to this day one of my daily internet stops. I like to see residents and visitors havin' a good time. More about that...

In Feb or so (I think), I eventually got a reply from the people at Rezzable, but it wasn't about work. It was an advertisement about some already complete project they thought I should visit. Mostly I was like of dumbfounded, I was excited to get an email reply about potentially working for them, only to be grounded by the fact that it essentially was spam. I guess I was sort of irritated by it, not mad or anything.

About in March I got a sort of canned reply for them for a scripting job, that I should check out on their website, but I was already working on something else and I could not commit the time to it. So I passed it up. About the same time I started seeing posts in teh flickr pool that were kinda questionably PA, not really more dystopian, but I am a prude when it comes to PA. My mindset was "Okay guys, haha".

Eventually the posts in the flickr pool were blaitent advertisements for stuff they were doing, especially around the NPIRL thing they did. WTF guys? Not at all Post Apocalyptic, and just spamming the flickr pool. Granted, I am not the administrator of it, but you'd think they'd have the decency to not spam non-PA stuff in a PA image-thing-place. I posted a comment on one of the images posted by RightAsRain in the photo pool, asking how this image was relevant to the group, they deleted the comment, and turned comments off.

WHAT THE FUCK REZZABLE?

You guys used to be cool, but now you've stooped to tactics that clubs in SL do when they're failing. Please undo all the wrong and be cool again.

This has nothing to do with the people who work for rezzable, just the direction the company is heading.
