Considering the goal of that was for Anshe Chung to devalue the content creation market, do you think that's acceptable for SLX to position her before other creators?
As to the other, I have never posted on the SLX forums, but I was banned, my L$ balance seized and my items removed because I criticized Apotheus' bullying actions to shut down SC because a random, anonymous person posted server code that was released publicly the year before in a permissions exploit. Code that should have been cleaned up considering it was publicly available, yet he flipped out, followed wholly incorrect procedures with the DMCA and had SC's ISP shut them down instead of contacting the site owner first. Myself and several others from SC were banned for complaining, on SC, about the route he took.
Their forums are rife with bullying moderators insulting people and then banning them. Just a couple weeks ago Tenshi was banned and when asked why one of the admins told her she was trash or something.
Again, is this a merchant you want to support? |
That *is* awful yes, however, I can understand favoritism...that's business. And as far as Anshe dropping the value of other products because of her low price, I think that's unfortunate for some merchants, but many won't be influenced by this. Anshe can't make *everything*. Similarly freebie stores can't offer everything. And really...can you blame Anshe Inc.? All is fair in love and war...and business falls into this as well.
That really sucks that they bully people around. I guess I'm glad I don't frequent that forum.
As far as supporting SLX with my presence there...I don't know what to say. About half of my sales come from SLX...and I certainly don't want to lose that. Yes, they may be jerks from time to time, but it's not like I'm supporting Al Qaeda by selling on SLX.
