Box Office Mojo: The Love Guru

I haven't seen this turd, and now I doubt I'll even bother when it comes to cable. Myers has made over $1.8 billion (#13 among all actors) in career movie sales. $1 billion of that, however, comes from his three Shrek movies.

Love Guru grossed $36,000 last weekend.

That's not a typo. Thirty six thousand dollars.

Cripes, it costs the theater that much in salaries and air conditioning just to show this lemon. Here's the numbers:

Domestic Total as of Jul. 27, 2008: $31,891,000 (Estimate)
Distributor: Paramount Release Date: June 20, 2008
Genre: Comedy Running Time: 1 hrs. 28 min.
MPAA Rating: PG-13 Production Budget: $62 million

So it cost roughly twice as much to make Love Guru as it's earned.

I'm wondering if Myers is going to be making many more films that aren't voiceovers of children's cartoons?
