| I've tried them both. I always found more and better stuff on SLX. Say, for instance, I wanted to search for a bicycle. I'd find something like 12 different vendors selling different lines of bicycles on SLX, and 2 vendors on OnRez. Also, I'm stupid, so I had to spend something like an hour at some kiosk in order to figure out how to get started with it, and the whole rez-the-wallet-and-pay-into-it thing was confusing at first. Back when I actually put money into the offline shopping services, I liked the simplicity of SLX, where you just walk up to a terminal and pay it and that's it.
All that said, like somebody else above, I mostly use SLX as a search engine; I find what I want there, then look for a SLURL to follow so I can go buy the thing in-world. I do this because sometimes the vendors don't put absolutely everything they have on SLX. There could be a better, cooler, newer, and/or awesomer thing in the same product line in the store that they have (for whatever reason) not decided to sell offworld. I have more than once bought something offworld, only to visit the inworld shop and wish I'd used that money on the next item over. |
