I haven't read the recent walls-of-text, my apologies for that.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the only punishment that the Republic is proposing to deliver is banning from Republic lands.
And since you seem to have no problem with people doing what they want on their land, you should have no problem with the Republic guys doing what they want on theirs.
Its not like they'll be the first guys on the grid with people banned unnecessarily.
