I've posted my ghostly experience previously on SC, but as the entire archive went POOF, I will re interate it here for your reading pleasure.
When I was on my honeymoon in the little town of Micanopy, FL, staying at a lovely bed and breakfast called The Herlong Mansion, I got hit in the head twice by a ghost while taking a nap.
It was two days after the wedding and we'd gone out in the morning for breakfast and to do some shopping in the antique shops on main street. We went back to our room after lunch and I was exhausted. It'd had started raining, so I figured it was a good time for a nap. With my husband stretched out on the bed beside me watching tv, I dozed off only to wake when something literally smacked me on the top of my head. I looked up at my new husband and said crossly "What did you do that for?" to which he replied "Huh? What did I do?" And I sleepily muttered "Don't hit me in the head again!" then I pulled the coverlet over my head and fell back to sleep. I woke up again when I felt the same sharp "rap" on the top of my head! My husband looked at me quizzically and vehemently denied being the culprit.
Nothing else untoward happened while we were there, even though the house is supposed to be haunted. We took a tour of the whole mansion and when we stopped in "Inez's Room" I expressed the wish to stay there when we went back for our anniversary. My husband was kind of quiet, neither agreeing or disagreeing with my wish at that time. Some months later, we were discussing where to stay for our anniversary and I wanted to book "Inez's Room". He was adamantly opposed saying "No way, I felt something in that room, it's definitely haunted." Now, my husband is a pretty level headed guy, but he does have a "gift" as he describes it, for feeling spirits or hauntings. It used to freak me out when he'd describe things he'd experienced during his life. But he's so "regular" in general, I just chalk it up to it really being something he can feel.
Anyway, he adamandly refused to stay in Inez's Room and I argued back that he told me that the house wasn't haunted when we were staying there. He looked at me calmly and said "What do you think hit you in the head while you were sleeping that day?" I'd actually forgotten all about it and my eyes flew open as I remembered. "You said that room wasn't haunted!" I said, irritated. He replied "If I'd said it was a ghost, you wouldn't have stayed, would you?" I agreed, I wouldn't have!

He continued "The spirit or ghost in that room wasn't malevolent, it was just making itself known. Belleve me, if I thought we were in danger, we wouldn't have stayed." Which I know was true. He is very protective. Anyway. that is my boring but true ghost story. Below is the link to the website for the place we stayed in. We stayed in "The Pump House."

* I just clicked on the link and they've changed the names of the rooms. Inez's Room is now known as the Iris Suite, apparently. We stayed in the Pump House Cottage.
