What's up with PICKS of a person displaying when you search for their name in the new search? Why is that so important?

the list goes on. If you look at SL from an outsider's point of view, half the functionality, and half the UI makes no sense.

The orientation island is terrible, worse than ever because they did not update it when the UI changed in one of the recent updates.

One of my students kept trying to hula on the orientation island but he could not find the hula animation in his inventory or activated gestures list.
