With fewer than ten weeks before SLCC 2008, I am surprised by the lack of information on the official web site, and the lack of chatter and interest expressed among friends. According to the registrant list, there are about 150 people currently registered, though perhaps some have elected not to have their name shown. It just seems to me that by this point last year we had a lot more information, and there were a lot more people registered. I know there are quite a few people that plan to be there, but aren't going though the expense and hassle of registering because they are not interested in the tracks. But honestly, we know very little about the tracks or any of the events planned for SLCC.
Am I missing something? Is there another place for information than the official site?

An update, Mini-Tracks, the SLCC, and you! « The Official SLCC Blog
This year's event is in my back yard and I will definitely be there. I am really excited about seeing my friends. I might drop a couple of emails on the organizers and see if they have an update or more information coming. But before I did, I just wanted to see what you all felt about it. There just seems to be silence around the entire event unless I am just out of the loop. By the way, this isn't a criticism or attack on the organizers and volunteers - many of whom are my friends. I am just genuinely curious if I am unreasonable to think that more information and excitement should be brewing at this point.
