It has been five long, crazy, happy, frustrating, wonderful, amazing years of officially having a Second Life. Congratulations to Linden Lab and happy birthday to
SL - without it, this community of people nor this site would be here. It has been a wild ride. Whatever mistakes have been made, Second Life is unmatched and an amazing achievement, and it has been incredible seeing it from the start to what it has become.
I hope
SL is able to celebrate many more birthdays - it is too important and too special to let slip away under the weight of instability and careless missteps. Ultimately, that is why many of us are so vocal - we love both what
SL has been and what it could be. Thank you to Linden Lab for their efforts - it certainly has never been easy or predictable, and it has been appreciated. Happy Birthday!

PS - SLUniverse will be celebrating its fifth birthday later this year as well (though under a new name). It has been wonderful seeing the site continue to grow as
