After a few of these experiences I managed to control my fear and rather than turn on the light or freeze and do nothing I slowly rose up and felt over the surface of the blankets whilst my feet were still feeling the depression of the mattress. What I discovered was that the mattress was not being depressed at all and so I concluded that it was all in my mind.
The question was why was it in my mind. Do we delude ourselves or can the dead influence our cognition?
Another experience happened about two years later after my grandmother had passed away. I wanted to go check my mail box but for some reason the front door key had gone missing from it's hook near the door. I searched everywhere for those keys and failed to find them. I located a spare set of keys, left the house and checked the mail box and returned. Upon attempting to place the spare keys on the hook I discovered the original keys had returned... at which point I personally acknowledged my Grandmother indicating to me that she survived death in some form and suggested that surely there was better things to do than to move keys around. I reached this conclusion because other small things had occurred but not to a degree that I could discount rational explanations.
The final story was in my inherited Grandmothers house also like the story above. I had a female visitor and we were in the main bedroom (formerly my Grandmothers bedroom) doing "things" with her vibrator to her when it slipped and fell on the floor. Since we were "busy" we decided to collect it later. Later she was unable to locate it at all. She eventually found it placed back in her bag which was in the hallway. Neither of us moved it. The dead watch us fuck?
It is true that people see something otherwise normal and attribute paranormal things to it. But also real paranormal things do happen also. The trick is to separate them with logical and scientific thinking. |
No such thing as "paranormal".
