| No matter which area of the political or social spectrum you reside, each and every one of us in the United States has to hold in their hands one particular fact: this country has nominated (for all intents and purposes) an African-American for a run for the highest elected office in the land. And his closest competitor, who ran long and hard, was a woman. I'm old enough to know a time when this would have been, to put it mildly, patently unthinkable.
If for no other reason, this gives me hope.
