Just because my shapes arent big enough to make you happy, does not mean that I don't catch flack. it does not mean I don't have to adjust prims just as you do. I want people to see you can be a bigger size and still be beautiful..even if its just by adding some curves. I know what its like being big in real life and im happy with my size in sl. that doesnt make your plight anymore important or real than mine. I was just telling the story of my experience, and that of a few willing individuals; people who were willing to try being in someone else's shoes for a bit. and it may not have been enough to get people to fatten themselves up, but it opens up their eyes to what it's like.

Interesting that you'd take such a defensive tone in response to my comment, when I was only making an observation. As a matter of fact, I believe I complimented your efforts multiple times.

I'm perfectly within my rights to compare the size of my daily-use "fatvatar" with those of your participants. I wasn't critical of any -- I only said that my avie is larger than most of the ones in your article, which is just as true now as it was back in December or January when you and I corresponded. And I believe I told you at the time that you dropped the shapes on me that they were substantially smaller than my own or those of other plus-size avatars who live in the shapes they created for themselves from day to day.

Kudos to you and the participants for trying something different in your social experiment. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't put words in my mouth or try to paint my observations as more critical than they really are.

It would be silly to suggest that I thought any exercise geared to evaluate the acceptance of larger avatars in SL was fruitless or negative. It is an exercise I put myself through, willingly, every single day. Why would I try to demean your efforts? No one ever said that your team's efforts were any less important than anyone else's.

Perhaps the difference here is, you called it a "plight," and I call it my experience. I don't consider my existence a "plight," at all. And who said anything about one being more real than the other?

I'm really confused with your tone, to be honest.

Also -- I don't encourage anyone to "fatten themselves up." I think people in SL should have their avies however they are most comfortable. I'm not a fat activist, in RL or SL. My avatar reflects me, in the way I want to reflect me. I would wish the same on anyone.
