It sucks. LOL!
Unless prim attachments are 100% mod -- meaning I can edit linked parts and edit each. separate. prim. -- many of them are unwearable.
So, I just don't wear many. I have learned which designers' skirts are easily adjusted or moved to accommodate me, and I tend to only buy skirts from certain places as a result.
Some plus size avies have better luck than I do with editing prim attachments. I don't have the patience.
Oh, and if boots aren't texture boots with prim bottoms, I won't buy them whether they're mod or not. The only exception is a pair of men's Z boots from Shiny Things that are prim, but they're men's size so they fit me.
The photo in Marissa's article of a "fatvatar" swallowing up prim uppers on a laced boot -- if that were my leg, you wouldn't be able to see the prim upper at all. It would be embedded firmly in my calf.
Boots like that look so hideous when they are re-sized to fit me, that it's not even worth the effort in trying.
