| I don't know zBrush but those gray lines look like they represent vertices that were added later on in the modeling process and fell out of the normal vertex order. I can imagine getting something like that by starting with a low-res 16x or 32x sphere and modelling away, then smoothing afterwards before exporting.
If you're lucky and the viewer doesn't see those gray spots, your sculpty would render as expected. If the viewer notices the gray, though, I think it would render any or all of those vertices at the center of the sculpty, making it look all spikey.
