| I'm guessing this is an attempt to leep people from gaming the new search engine for one (Since profile links count towards your search rank now), and keep database load down for another. Considering how many people loudly complain about letting people sign up for free to Second Life it'll be interesting to see if those same people applaud or rebuke this move.
