I'd be tempted to scream "but they don't really intend to enforce it" if not for the fact of their "ban you for any reason or no reason" rule. A rule I note was on its way to being overruled when LL decided they didn't want it judged in
Bragg v. Linden Lab.
Usually, the first step of trademark enforcement is a Cease & Desist letter because the trademark owner has to make you aware of your infringement so that you can correct it. Unfortunately, LL doesn't think too straightly so I wouldn't be surprised if the C&D came in the form of a bannination notice. Which itself is odd in a world full of anonymity. Can LL actually connect the administrator of
SLU with the in-game avatar? Probably not without a subpoena, but they
don't have to according to their rules.
