I think your perspective on Philip often depends on what point you joined
SL at. Early on, Philip was deeply involved with the
SL community, and the most accessible I've ever seen the CEO of a company be.
As
SL grew it became more difficult for him to be that way, obviously, but for a time he was very involved with members, which I really enjoyed. You could email him and get a response, he posted in the forums, came to resident events, hung out at the welcome area, and was just generally involved and incredibly approachable.
I really miss that - it is part of what made
SL very appealing for me - the sense that we were all involved in building something special, not just customers. The disillusionment that followed was quite a drop.
